Eventers sponsored by Kentucky Equine Research had a busy weekend riding multiple horses in CCIs in Virginia and Ireland.

Liz Halliday-Sharp took her upper-level horses to the Millstreet International Horse Trials in County Cork, Ireland. “Back from a busy, but successful, week at Millstreet! We had four horses there, all competing in the CCI4*-S, and we went with a definitive plan for each of them. I can definitely say that it was mission accomplished!” Liz said in a Facebook post.

“All four horses did good tests and jumped super-clear show-jumping rounds, leaving them in competitive positions before cross-country. While it was difficult to go out on course and stick to my plan of not running them quickly, it certainly meant they had the positive runs they needed despite the muddy ground. I chose not to run Fernhill By Night in the ERM because mud is not his thing, but Cooley Quicksilver, Deniro Z, and Carpe Diem all had steady, excellent clear rounds, finishing 7th, 10th, and 20th in a big class, leaving them happy and ready for their next challenge!” Liz continued in the post.

Liz and Cooley Quicksilver were recently named to the U.S. Eventing Team for the FEI Eventing Nations Cup the Netherlands, being held October 10-13, 2019 at the Military Boekelo CCIO4*-L in Enschede, the Netherlands.

Liz relies on Synovate HA®(opens new window) to support joint health. “My older horses have never gone better. Synovate HA smells great, and the horses seem to really enjoy it. It’s very palatable. You know if you put Synovate in their feed, they are going to eat it!” she said. Liz also uses Bio-Bloom™ PS(opens new window)EO-3™(opens new window), EquiShure®(opens new window)Nano-Q10™(opens new window)Restore® SR(opens new window), and RiteTrac®(opens new window) to give her horses targeted nutritional support for optimal performance.

Back in the States, Buck Davidson and Anna Loschiavo competed at the Mars Great Meadow International in The Plains, Virginia.

Buck rode six horses across the CCI divisions, finishing third in the CCI3*-S with Electric Lux and ninth in the CCI2*-S with Cooley Candyman. Buck relies on KER Sport Horse Nutrition(opens new window) feeds to supply nutrition that ensures his horses perform their best. “KER has always been the authority on feeding high-performance sport horses,” Buck said. “I’ve always relied on KER-formulated feeds(opens new window).”

Anna rode Prince Renan and Spartacus Q in the CCI4*-S, finishing seventh with Prince Renan. Anna uses the KER ClockIt™(opens new window) app to track her horses’ fitness and fine-tune her feel for their speed, strength, and endurance. In addition to the app, Anna also uses new Nano-Q10™(opens new window) to help her speed recovery between workouts. Nano-Q10 is a highly bioavailable form of coenzyme Q10, a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from the damaging effects of free radicals and energizes other antioxidants in the body, like vitamins C and E.
