Kentucky Equine Research earned an American Horse Publications (AHP) Equine Media Award on May 17, at the 2025 AHP Equine Media Conference, held in Dallas, Texas.

Kentucky Equine Research won with its most recent corporate video, which was entered into the category titled Business Equine-Related Commercial Marketing Video, Short Form, continuing a long tradition of success at the awards ceremony.

According to the category specifications, the video is meant to compellingly promote a company’s mission, product, or service. The videos entered in this category were evaluated on concept, quality of craft, integration, and overall end-user experience.

“The purpose of the video is to highlight the company’s commitment to cutting-edge research and delivering advice and products backed by science,” said Mary Sheerin, marketing coordinator at Kentucky Equine Research. The new tagline, which is revealed at the end of the commercial, is “Research Is Our Key Ingredient.”

Featuring several employees and research horses, the commercial was filmed in the summer of 2023 at the company’s flagship research farm in Versailles, Kentucky.

The commercial was first released at the 27th Equine Health and Nutrition Conference, hosted by Kentucky Equine Research, which was held in February 2024 in Ocala, Florida.

This year’s competition celebrates material published in 2024 and drew hundreds of entries submitted by freelance writers, publishers, and businesses. Kentucky Equine Research won its first AHP Equine Media Award more than 20 years ago.

According to its website, “American Horse Publications strives to be the primary source of education, resources, and networking for the equine media community, believing a proactive approach in an ever-evolving communications-driven world allows the flexibility and opportunity to promote, support and reward excellence in equine media.”
