Kentucky Equine Research-sponsored barrel racer Kaylee Gallino didn’t let a minor tack malfunction slow her down at Today’s Horse West Fest, held September 27-29 in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Kaylee’s reins came unsnapped between the second and third barrel during her first run on JC Baldy Frost (Buckwheat). In spite of the malfunction, the pair finished in 16.567 seconds, earning second place for the round. Kaylee and Buckwheat rode a 16.694 in the second round to finish fifth in the average.

Kaylee’s veteran mount JC Truly Bob (Bob) put in two solid rounds to beat his stablemate in the average, finishing second overall for the weekend.

Kaylee uses Triacton® to support her horse’s digestive tract and bone health. “Barrel racing can be a grueling sport on a horse’s digestive tract. Between the miles in the trailer and the runs, it’s great to have a product like Triacton to feed. I use it as a preventative measure to help ensure healthy gut function, which in turn keeps my horses eating well on the road and performing comfortably in the arena. An added bonus with Triacton is its highly bioavailable marine-derived calcium content, which supports my horses’ soundness and longevity,” said Kaylee.

Kaylee also uses KER Targeted Nutrition products Bio-Bloom™ PSEO-3™, Nano-Q10™, and Race Recovery™. Learn more about KER’s research-proven products here.
