KER-sponsored eventer Liz Halliday-Sharp finished first in two of the three Advanced divisions at the Pine Top Horse Trials in Thomson, Georgia, on February 22, 2019.

Cooley Quicksilver made a splash in his first outing at the Advanced level. “Monster” won the Advanced Test A-A division and earned the lowest score across all three divisions.

“He’s always been a bit of a freak,” Liz told Eventing Nation. “We’ve had him since he was a very green five-year-old, and he’s definitely his own person, but today he was incredible in the jumping phases. He just found it all very easy, which is amazing for an eight-year-old. I’m very excited about him turning into the top horse we always knew he could be.”

Stablemate Deniro Z, known around the barn as “Niro,” finished first in the Advanced Test A-B division in his first cross-country run since last fall.

Liz told Eventing Nation, “Niro hasn’t had a cross-country run since Little Downham last year at the beginning of October, so he was a little bit surprised to be out around an Advanced. That was a decision we made with (U.S. Eventing Performance Director) Erik Duvander. He’s a brilliant horse, and a couple of the time faults came with settling in a bit. He was over-jumping a few things and getting himself back together again.”

All Advanced divisions were run in a one-day format, making a quick recovery between phases essential to success. Liz uses new Nano-Q10™ and said, “The ability to quickly bounce back between phases is so important in eventing. Coenzyme Q10 is a key nutrient for muscle health and recovery. I rely on Nano-Q10 from KER to ensure I’m supporting my winning event horses with the latest in equine nutrition science.”
